  • James Fox

    Guest Reader
We are delighted to welcome James Fox as our Guest Reader. As is very appropriate to the occasion he was, along with several other members of his family, educated here at Harrow School. James is the second of three sons, born to the theatrical agent Robin Fox and his actress wife Angela Worthington. His brothers are the actor Edward Fox and the producer Robert Fox. After Harrow, and a subsequent service commission with the Coldstream Guards, James trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama and appeared in numerous films in the 1960s including The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Isadora, and Performance. He left acting for nine years from 1970 to 1979 to pursue other interests but returned to make a significant number of films in the 1980s and onwards, including A Passage to India, The Whistle Blower and Patriot Games as well as many appearances in TV dramas. Appropriately enough, these included the 1995 mini-series The Choir. His niece is the actress Emilia Fox and, from his marriage to Mary Piper, he has a daughter, Lydia, and four sons: Thomas, Robin and the actors Jack and Laurence Fox. James’ more recent appearances have included a guest appearance in Laurence Fox’s series Lewis as well as roles in Law & Order UK, Death in Paradise, and as Lord Aysgarth in Downton Abbey.
  • The Choir of Whitmore High School

    Guest Choir
The Whitmore Choir is a large ensemble of student singers from the entire range of year groups. Their founder is Simone Benn, now head of the music department, and the students are in years 7 – 13. They have an excellent working relationship with each other and there is a definite sense of camaraderie within the ensemble. They have been working on their own unique sound for the past three years and performed with us to great acclaim at last year's Christmas concert. We are very pleased to welcome them back again this year as our special guests.
  • Elysian Brass

We are delighted once again to welcome Elysian Brass as our guests this evening. They are a quintet made up of recent graduates from music colleges across the UK, each of whom is forging a career in music, such as studying abroad, teaching and playing freelance. Two years they were so new that we didn't have a photograph of them. Then last year they were just too popular to find the time to have one taken. But we're getting closer - here's one of their instruments. Please pay close attention to the band when they're playing 'cos you'll just have to remember what they look like! Elysian Brass comprises: Mathew Hampton - trumpet Ryan Linham - trumpet Emily Allen - French horn Jane Salmon - trombone Stephen Calo – tuba
